Grocery prices seem to be increasing every time I do my shopping! While the prices are going up, I am challenging myself to lower my grocery budget by $25, to $100 per week.
I would love to be able to toss that extra money into our savings account each week. This week I spent $110.00 total, $15 less than budgeted so I am confident that I can trim that other $10 easily enough.
I have also been trying out soaking my grains, and I have to say I LOVE the taste of everything I have made so far. I am still trying to build the habit of soaking each night, I seem to forget more often than not. Having hearty grains for breakfast has done wonders for keeping us full and energized in the mornings.
This week my goal is to successfully (key word here) make my own yogurt. I purchased a yogurt maker at a thrift shop for a couple of dollars. Our favorite flavor is Stoneyfield French Vanilla. Now that a container is up to $3.19, I am more motivated than ever to make my own! If there are any great recipes out there for making homemade yogurt taste as good as the store, I am very interested in trying them out!
