Menu Plan Monday-Thanksgiving Edition!

by Stephanie on November 24, 2008

Right now, our finances our super tight so I am challenging myself to lower my grocery bill (again!). I know many people who feed their family for so little, and as much as I have tried I have struggled to keep my bill between $100-125. I would like to go down to $75-85 per week without compromising on eating healthy foods. I am feeding a family of 5, and we have hearty appetites! With Thanksgiving this week, I should be able to get away with a pretty small trip to the store!  With that in mind, here is my menu plan! Many items (like cereal and meat) I have stockpiled in my pantry or freezer already:

Breakfasts:
Cereal, milk, fruit x 2

Cinnamon Bread, Smoothie

Toast w/ jelly, Fruit Smoothie

Pancakes w/ syrup, fruit

Eggs, Toast, sausage

Apple Bread, Yogurt, granola

Lunches:

Leftovers  x3

Grilled cheese/soup

Mixed green salad with hard boiled eggs

PB&J Sandwich, veggie sticks, fruit

Thanksgiving dinner!

Suppers:

Pork Roast, Rice, Vegetables

Sloppy Joes, french fries, veggies

Lasagna casserole, garlic bread, salad

Homemade Pizza, pineapple, salad

Turkey Tetrazzini, leftover rolls & veggies

Thanksgiving Casserole, leftovers

Good luck with that. We have a fairly small grocery budget due to finances as well but I feel that we do not include as many fruits and veggies as we should. I am trying to figure out how to make it all work on a small budget.
