Holiday Garland Show N Tell

by Stephanie on December 10, 2008

Today the Nester is having a garland party!

This isn’t the first time I have been inspired by her wonderful decorating ideas. I fell in love with her garland and was inspired to do my own. Except I only had about $20 to do it with, and NOTHING to start with. Which means I had to shop the really cheap discount store and pick up the really cheap greens. Unfortunately they seem to show up in their cheapness more in the photos than in real life (I think :) )

This was so much fun to do, even if it was with cheap florals.  I like how it turned out, but you better believe I will be eyeing those after Christmas sales to scoop up loads more stuff for next year! I don’t have a mantel, so I did my stair well. Here’s how it came out:

I am excited to look through all of the wonderful variations posted today. I desperately need to be inspired for Holiday decorating! Happy garland viewing!

Don’t worry about being cheap. I recognize those sparkly words, I picked mine up at the dollar store.

Very nice! I really like a garland on a bannister.

I don’t have time to visit all of the garland sites, but I visited yours specifically because you said it was “on a budget” and I’m all about the budget. I think you did a lovely job and it looks very festive. I’m with you on those after Christmas sales!

Love it! I too feel like somethings do look worse on camera than in real life! But this looks great!

I don’t think it looks cheap at all. It’s very pretty. I love garlands on a banister.

Oh, great job! I love the “joy!” Christmas blessings to you and your family!

I think your garland looks great! I’m all for bargins! I just unpacked my garland from last year that I use on top of my piano. Well, it looks awful!!! Off the Wal-Mart I go! I don’t understand how things can look so bad when they were just sitting in a box!! It looks like someone danced on top of mine…the ribbon is flat like a pancake!

Have a great Christmas!
