In The Dark…Still

On Thursday evening a severe ice storm hit parts of Maine and New Hampshire, knocking out power to over 300,000 people. Surprise, we are one of the 300,000! We are going on day 4 with no electricity and no heat, and we could be several more days before our power is restored. There are power lines and poles down every where, the grocery stores are a mad house and you can expect to wait in line for up to an hour for gas…if you can even find a place that has gas.

We have managed to keep warm (somewhat) with a propane heater that we purchased on Friday. Thank God that Lowe’s runs on generators! Even Walmart was closed! My brother, who lives on the other side of town, received power back on Sunday so we decided to bunk with him. Well I should say the children and I did. My husband is stubborn and won’t leave the house. I stuck it out for 3 days in the cold, but I couldn’t spend another night under twenty blankets shivering!

Please keep this area in prayer as there are still many people without power and it looks like another storm is coming our way this week. Thankfully we are all safe and being provided for and Lord willing, our power will be back on today!

I found you recently (have no idea where) and have enjoyed reading your posts. I’m sorry to hear you are still without power. Being cold is no fun!
