My seven year old son has a constantly expanding vocabulary. Often times he will hear a new word and like the way it sounds, and it will become the word of the day. Usually when he settles on a word for the day, it gets inserted anywhere it can, often times not making really going with the meaning of the word. It is yelled, drawn out, and pronounced in several different accents. It makes for a lot of laughs!
Yesterday the word of the day was romantic. Don’t ask me where he picked it up, I have no idea.
Everything was “romantic” yesterday. Ice skating, getting dressed, brushing his teeth. I began to wonder if I should intervene and suggest a new word, but I have to admit I was getting a chuckle. The funniest one was when he told me was telling me how romantic cookies in the oven smelled. That’s my boy, and I hope his future wife appreciates all this training I am giving him
By evening, he had switched from “romantic” to “complicated”. I overheard him telling daddy that getting ready for bed was so complicated. (drawn out in a southern accent)
Hey atleast he switched words before that statement. I am sure it would have thrown daddy for a loop!
