This Weeks Menu Plan

As part of this weeks Homemakers Haven challenge, I am working on planning my week, including a menu plan.

My husband and I sat down and planned out our meals this week. It was pretty comical, as I try to use what’s on hand and he is requesting steak tips and scallops. As you can see that didn’t make it on the menu, but it was fun having him help anyway!

I just hit a great chicken sale a few weeks ago so there’s lots of chicken this week. I am getting ready to go scoop up another deal on pot roast and more chicken once this snow dies down around here. Hopefully I will find a few other cuts of meat marked down! Chicken at every meal gets a little repetitive, eh?

Here is what we got this week:

Breakfasts:

Egg & Cheese on English Muffins, fresh OJ

Bagels w/ cream cheese, fresh fruit

Pumpkin Bread with cream cheese, yogurt, fresh OJ

Cereal w/ milk and fruit x2

Pancakes w/ syrup, veggie sausage, fruit

Eggs, toast, home fries

Lunches:

Leftovers x3

Fish patties, French fries, corn

Pigs in blanket, macaroni n cheese

Salad, hard boiled eggs, sunflower seeds

Pack lunch: sandwich, veggie sticks, granola bar water

Dinner:

Roasted Chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls

Oven BBQ chicken, black beans and rice, broccoli, salad

Chicken and noodle bake, salad, homemade rolls

Grilled Chicken sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw

Homemade pizza

Sat church potluck: Butternut Squash soup and lemon bars

Planning, huh, did you say planning? ;) I’m glad you said something b/c I really do need to focus on planning meals. I love to plan everything else; I just have a weird phobia with the grocery store. I went through a phase where I compulsively clipped coupons and sought out deals but it would take forever to get through everything. And if I don’t take coupons I feel unprepared. Every time I go to the grocery store I end up with things I don’t need.

Wow, simple question and I’m off on a tangent. . . Can I just come eat with you? ;)

Thanks for this. How apropos- I was just thinking I better make myself a grocery list before I blindly stumble from one ill-prepared meal to the next. I’m off to plan.

Bless you!

Thanks for including the pigs in a blanket! Hope you enjoy them… I love to have a stash in my freezer for quick lunches. ;-) Amy
