Much Ado About Feminism

by Stephanie on May 12, 2009

At Family Life Today, Carolyn McCully (author  of Radical Womanhood), is finishing up a 3 part series called Radical Womanhood: Feminine Faith in a Feminist World. This is an excellent series for all women to  hear, whether you proclaim yourself to be a feminist or not. I haven’t had a chance to listen to all 3 yet, but what I have heard so far is excellent. I love what she says here:

I think that everyone can have solid powers of observation; that they can look at something and say, “Here is a problem.” And I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with some of the observations feminists made, over time. But the ability to make an observation and then to make a correct interpretation of it and then the right solution can be very different. So I think there is a history, corporately, of men sinning against women. But the solution that feminism offered was to continue to promote that anger and to promote that separation and encouraged women to sin in response to men and offered this idea of being women’s liberation when, in fact, the only true liberator for women is Jesus Christ.

Each part is only about 25 minutes, but well worth listening to You can listen here:

Part 1: Waking Up To Faith

Part 2: Feminisms Beginnings

Part 3: Feminisms Impact on Family And Marriage

I would love to hear what you think of it. Perhaps if time allows, I will be able share some of my thoughts later on!
