I  love Market Basket. They usually have the cheapest prices anywhere, and I just found one that takes printable coupons to sweeten up many deals.

I am excited to join 5 Dollar Dinners in featuring a weekly bargain meal for Market Basket!

Here is this weeks bargain meal:

BBQ Grilled  Chicken Thighs, Grilled Yams and Steamed Broccoli

Price Breakdown:

Chicken Thighs 1.09/lb

Yams 2/$1 (we need 2 to feed us!)

Broccoli Crowns .99/lb

Total cost: $4.08

When I buy chicken thighs, I parboil them in the morning, let it cool and then marinade it in BBQ sauce. I always have little bits of sauce left in the fridge, so I just start emptying out containers until I have enough to coat them. It is also nice to have a little to brush on while grilling! You can also make your own with what you have in the pantry using this recipe.

A few other meals you could make this week from sale items:

BLT’s and Sweet Potato Fries= Pre- cooked bacon is on sale for 1.49, tomatoes for .99/lb, and Romaine lettuce for 1.79/pkg. Freihofer’s Country White Bread $1.50 each, and make some Sweet Potato French Fries

And with all that yummy chicken broth leftover and some on-sale Broccoli, try out this delicious soup

Chicken legs, drumsticks and thighs are on sale for 1.09/lb (I have seen them at .79- .99/lb so this isn’t the best price, but still good) you can find lots of ways to make the most of that chicken here.

Have a great week!
