This post is linked to Things I Love Thursday.
It’s warm and cozy in our house, in contrast to the brisk fall air outside. The wind shakes the last few brightly colored fall leaves to the ground.
My favorite candles are softly lit throughout the house. Bread is baking in the oven, a pie cools on the counter while a tasty stew simmers on the stove. The smells make my children ask “When can we eat Mom?”. We are waiting for daddy to get home.
I love being home. I love to clean it, decorate it, and make it our haven. I love filling my home with the scents of yummy food. I love making dinner for my hard working husband to enjoy after a long day at work. I love giving made from scratch tasty treats to my children.
When we all gather together at night in the living room and cuddle up under the blankets I often think “Life doesn’t get any better than this”.
I don’t wish to travel all over the world. I don’t wish to have lots of money, fancy cars or homes. The things the world calls must haves or success pale in comparison to what I have.
It is this. Home. My family. Caring for them, protecting them, nurturing them, and loving them. That is what goes into the depths of my heart and makes it complete. Being right here, under this roof, loving this family. God is so good to bless me with it. I can see why family was in His heart since the creation of the world.

For me, it’s being at home on a cold snowy day and lighting the candles, putting on some quiet and relaxing music and enjoying a cup of tea (or even better, a glass of wine! How decadent!))
With my fiancé.
With my daughter.
Who needs a fancy car????????
I love that pic of the leafy heart! Total inspiration for my fall layout in my family scrapbook.

I agree. I can’t tell you how many times I think “life can’t get better than this”
WOW! It sounds like I could have written this post! I love being home. Not leaving the house for days doesn’t bother me one bit.

I love this post because it tells the things that I love, too (but I’ve no child yet). Glad to be here…

You don’t have to have children to love the things of home!
Oh man, those are the things I love too.
