Monday morning my husband surprised us with a day off. After treating us to breakfast, we decided to enjoy the beautiful fall day we were blessed with.
Sure there were lots of chores we could do around the house. I almost hesistated, thinking of all the things we needed to get done…
Sometimes its a finer thing to have fun as the only thing on your to do list!
We grabbed our cameras and headed to a scenic river area.
Have you taken a break lately to enjoy the finer things in life? Don’t worry, the chores will be there waiting when you get back. But the memories? They will last forever:)

Totally agree with that. Loved the pictures! My kids are now 16 and 20 and I have precious memories of the times we dropped everything and went somewhere.
Those times are harder to come by now, as our oldest is very busy with college, work, and his activities/responsibilities at church. So his schedule is very busy,
However, recently he had a Saturday off and so we just dropped everything and went to Costco. I know it wasn’t all that exciting but it was all we could manage time-wise and we enjoyed it!
We now really have to plan ahead in order to do things as a family. But I will still drop everything and go off with my 20 year old when he asks me too (the 16 year old is kind of a homebody, lol!).
BTW, I subscribed to you and am going to follow you on twitter to.

How special! I’m glad you were able to spend that day together. It is good to put away your list to spend the time with your family.

That’s for sure. It was fun, even if I had twice as much to do the next day
You have a beautiful family! Looks like you all had a great time together. What a great reminder to slow down and enjoy those times together.
