Hi April,

I began walking with the Lord in my mid twenties, so it was a discipline I had to learn to develop too. As for a Bible curriculum, how old are your children? Maybe I could share a few things that we have done in our schooling to help you along. Blessings!

We have done it for so long my children automatically do it without me even reminding them! It has afforded time for my older children to read lots of good books

At this point in time, I have my children set up to do about an hour of schooling independently and that is usually when I squeeze it in. It’s always a tough thing to balance!

I really enjoyed this… one thing that I have found that is great for MY sanity is having a menu plan. I hate not knowing what we’re doing for meals or forgetting to sit something out. I have to have a plan. I’m a list maker and a planner and not having one makes my brain turn to mush!

I need to be more selfish in spending time in the Word and to get my children back in the habit of that. I tried to in our homeschooling but the Bible program I purchased, I didn’t find was working well for us.

Sigh… still on the search for another one so that we can all dealve into it together.

I was not raised in the church and have started my journey with the Lord MUCH later in life so being disciplined about it is very difficult for me. I need to make it a bigger priority.

Thank you for a great post! I have found these three times for “me” to be cornerstones of my day as well and have written several posts about them on my blog. I have yet to have “days” or “nights” out with the “girls”, but my life is fulfilled and refreshed by taking this kind of “me time”.

What a well written post. My children are all teenagers now, but I applied the same concepts.
Rising early for spiritual reading. And always afternoon quiet time. We had quiet time in place until the children were teenagers. They still know that from 2-3pm is my time to read or nap.
